NORTH SIKKIM

Places to Visit
Kabi Lungchok
This historical place is about 17 kms from Gangtok on the North Sikkim Highway. The place has a historical background being the place where The Treaty of Blood Brotherhood between the Lepcha chief TeKung Tek and Bhutia chief Khey-Bum-Sa was signed. The spot of ceremony still has markings in form of a memorial stone in between the dense forests.
Sisters Waterfalls
Located around 32 km away from Gangtok, it falls on the National Highway leading to North Sikkim. It is a good stop by location which is also beautiful beyond words. The place has raised in tourist interest and there are also caterers and cafeterias to provide few snacks for its tourists.
Phensang Monastery
It is another important monastery located on the gentle slopes stretching from KAbi to Phodong and provides the best landscapes in the region. The Phensang Monastery is under the Nyingmapa Order and was built in 1721 during the time of Jigmee Pawo. The annual Chaam is celebrated here on the 28th and 29th of the tenth Lunar Month.
Sirijonga Yuma Mangheem Mangshila
It is an ethnic temple of the Limboo people of Sikkim. Constructed in 1983, the designs are similar to that of Sirijonga Yuma Mangheem. The temple celebrates occasions like Maghey Sankranti during the January season with full enthusiasm. It is situated in Martam in Sikkim.
Singhik
The place offers one of the nearest and best vies of the Kanchendzonga and its ranges. It is an offbeat location and serves the trekking and sightseeing thirst in tourists. It is best for one day treks or short trek adventures and has some of the most interesting natural trails that you will see anywhere else. The view of the Mt Siniolchu is a treat when you are here.
Chungthang
It is a beautiful place located in the confluence of Lachen and Lachuing Chu and the starting point of river Tista. Its in the North of Sikkim and a a junction between the above historical landmarks. It is situated about 95 kms from Gangtok and 2km from Lachung and 28 kms from Lachen. On the way to Lachung, Bheema Waterfalls can also be seen being a natural treat to the eyes.
Yumthang Valley of the Flowers
It is a beautiful valley situated at an elevation of about 3600 m and is situated about 140 kms from Gangtok. It is a natural treat and has marvelous blends of Flora as well as Fauna. The Shingba Rhododendrons Sancturaty ios also situated here and consists about 24 species of Rhododendrons.
Guru Dongmar Lake
It is one of the most sacred lakes of Sikkim and is also very beautiful and pristine in its natural form. Located at an altitude of about 5430 m, it is considered as a religious place to both Buddhists as well as Hindus. Guru PAdmasambhava is said to have blessed the Lake on his return from Tibet and the lake is also motorable, adding more spice to its offerings.
